As an institution of learning Green Bird Teachers' College has an aggressive action plan in terms of teacher preparation and classroom teaching. The college conducts microteaching, demonstration classes, single lessons teaching practice and Block Teaching Practice. It also does weekly, monthly and terminal tests.
It has stunned the public in its well above average perfomance during Block Teaching Practice conducted in Mwanga and Same districts and in the Grade A Teacher Certificate Examinations where it attained an
'A' Grade. This well deserved academic and professional performance has provided Kalua Development Trust Fund, the owners, with the necessary wherewithal to open Diploma in Education courses.
GRADE 'A' TEACHERS CERTIFICATE COURSE:
COURSE DURATION:
The Grade ‘A' Teachers Certificate is a two year Courses or as the Ministry may direct.
MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
- National Form IV in Division, I, II, III and IV of not more than 28 points.
- 4 credits
CURRICULUM:
CORE SUBJECTS:
- Educational Psychology, Guidance and Counselling
- Educational Research, Measurement and Evaluation
- Foundations of Education
- Curriculum and Teaching
- Civics
- Work Skills
- Project
- Block Teaching Practice for 4-5 weeks twice yearly.
OPTIONAL SUBJECTS: Primary Teaching Methods including:
-Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and Mathematics
- Arts (Geography and History)
- Languages (Kiswahili and English)
Students are expected to choose one out of the three options offered.
DIPLOMA IN EDUCATION:
COURSE DURATION:
The Diploma in Education is a two year Courses or as the Ministry may direct.
MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
- ‘A' level with at least two principal passes in teaching subjects.

EXAMINATIONS:
Final Examinations:
Final examinations for both courses are conducted by the National Examinations Council of Tanzania.
